Euro Disney in Paris opened in 1992.

In 1987 a partnership between the French authorities and Disney was made to bring Disney's magic to the heart of Europe. Paris was chosen for Euro Disney for its central location in Europe with easy travel by train, plane and automobile, its beauty and for its history. The Paris Resort is located 19 miles (30 kilometers) east of central Paris and is one of Europe's main travel destinations. Since the Park opened in 1992, the Euro resort has welcomed more than 150 million guests approximately 12 million guests per year.

In October of 1994 Euro Disneyland and Disney Resort changed their name to Disneyland Paris. Disney Studios Park was opened in 2002 and with the addition of more rides, attractions and making the theme parks appeal to the European tastes the Paris tourist destination is now becoming more popular and plans to expand within the next few years with additions of new rides and attractions because Disney's tenth park in the world is the smallest.

The resort offers 2 theme parks, Disneyland Park much like the Magic Kingdom and the most visited park plus Walt Disney Studios Park similar to Hollywood Studios in the United States. They also have the Disney Village similar to Downtown Disney and the Ikspiari, which is a shopping, dining and entertainment center. They also offer golf with 9-hole and 18-hole courses. There are many hotels from 2-star to 4-star ratings available managed by Euro Disney and four others that are not. Europeans were not impressed at the beginning by thinking the French culture would be ruined by American influence but will now travel to see these theme parks.
